Getting Started with Pivot
Pivot is a web-based tool that enables the UC San Diego community to find, track and share funding opportunities. Through an institutional subscription, users can create targeted searches based on custom criteria.
Features
- Advanced searches (by sponsor, discipline, keyword, amount, career stage, citizenship, funding type)
- Saved searches
- Automatic email notifications of new matches
- Individual opportunity tracking (deadline changes, etc)
- Custom groups (allows units to request creation of public groups around shared research interests)
- Publishing opportunities (calls for papers with deadlines)
- Scholar profiles (collaborator identification and personal funding matches)
Creating your account
- Visit the Pivot homepage to create an account
- In the lower right quadrant of the page, click the gray "create account" link
- Select the option to "Use institutional login credentials"
- Using the institutional dropdown menu, select "University of California, San Diego" and click the blue "create my account" button to be redirected to Single Sign-On. Remember to use the @ucsd.edu form of your email, not an @eng.ucsd.edu or @health.ucsd.edu address!
- Check your inbox for an account verification email
- Log in to create and save searches. Optional: For personalized funding matches, faculty and researchers can claim and update individual scholar profiles
