Brittney de Alicante

Proposal Manager

Proposal development and management, large-proposal project-management process creation and implementation, after-action review

Brittney is passionate about project management and brings a unique set of skills and experience to proposal management at UC San Diego. By applying project- and operations-management skills to proposal management, she assists investigators and teams in streamlining their proposal development by driving timelines and milestones, identifying and tracking proposal deliverables, coordinating teams and resources, assigning tasks, and advising on sponsor guidelines. She believes applying project-management concepts to proposal management is key to developing compelling, competitive proposals. She specializes in the development of moderate to large, complex proposals – often those that are multi-institutional and interdisciplinary – to NIH, NSF, DOE, USDA, and other sponsors.

Brittney received her Bachelor of Arts in Critical Identity Studies from Beloit College. Before joining UC San Diego, she spent the past seven years serving in various operations, project- and proposal-management roles at the University of Oregon and Portland Community College, most recently as Project Manager for Strategic Research Initiatives in the University of Oregon’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. She is currently pursuing her Project Management Professional certification through the Project Management Institute.
