Strategic research funding promotion, limited submissions, internal funding programs, research funding intelligence

As the Associate Director of Research Development, Meg leads the effort to promote research funding of strategic importance to the university. She manages internal competitions for extramural funding opportunities that limit the number of applications UC San Diego can submit to an extramural sponsor (a.k.a. Limited Submissions). With over seven years' experience analyzing the research funding landscape, Meg advises leadership and partner offices on decision-making and strategic planning related to research funding and raising the profile of UC San Diego researchers. Meg has a particular interest in improving equity, diversity, and inclusion in internal funding competitions and research funding promotion.

Meg earned a PhD in English from UC Davis in 2017. Before joining UC San Diego, Meg managed the limited submissions process and research funding promotion at UC Davis.
